| October | Children's Theatre | On MEA Thursday in October the Children's Theatre hosts their annual open house. It is wonderful! Try on costumes and receive a free picture; get your face painted as some character from a show this season; watch a light and sound show; see sets backstage; watch them working in the scene shop; find props from recent plays in the prop shop; visit the costume shop and the sound stage. Everything is free. Give yourself at least 3 hours there. |
| October | Grand History Days | MEA Thursday and Friday at the Dakota County Fairgrounds. Travel
back in time to see costumed characters and try your hand at all sorts
of activities of the time. Kids are given a card to be stamped at each
location as they try each activity. From 494, take Highway 3 south to Farmington. Turn right on Ash street, and the entrance to the fairgrounds will come up on your left. |
| April/May | Festival of Nations | The Festival of Nations usually occurs in late April or early May at Touchstone Energy Place in St. Paul. This is a great place to try food from around the world, see a variety of ethnic dances, and all sorts of handicrafts. Saturday is the best day to see children and youth perform. |
